In Italy we say „Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi” which means Christmas with your family, Easter with whoever you want. The amount of time was not enough to go home and stay with my family, so I decided to go with Sofi, another EVS volunteer, to discover Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
It was supposed to be a „relaxing adventure”, to have relax and a taste of adventure. We took a blablacar, which is car pooling, with a Ucranian guy who was going to Bratislava and who couldn’t speak English, a nice guy who offered us coffee and Ucranian cigarettes on the way to Bratislava. It was funny to communicate with him using Google translator.
We arrived and we started our trip by trying food and beers in Slovakia. Bratislava is a good destination for enjoying the city itself and admiring the castle from the river, it can be also a nice stop on the way to Vienna. My tip is to go when the good weather comes, like during spring, and to have a relaxing weekend through the narrow streets, following the sound of the great street artist I found!
