Hello everyone ! Living abroad is an extraordinary and rewarding experience. We can meet new people, discover new cultures but also travel in the surrounding countries. I had the chance to got to Germany for a few days to discover Berlin, let me tell you about my trip.
I went to Berlin in January with friends, we had planned this trip for a few months already and we were very excited to travel together.
We arrived in the morning and were greeted by a German friend who has been living there for some time. So we discovered the city by walking in the streets. There are many very interesting architectural monuments and each has its own story. It was a very interesting day but also tiring because we walked for a long time. We also arrived accidentally in the middle of a strike, it was quite unusual!
The culinary specialty is the currywurst, so we went to eat some in a restaurant. Berlin is known for being an underground city, we wanted to go to a bar like this to taste German beer. The atmosphere was very nice, the music too, we could see a great diversity of people from all backgrounds.
The next day we visited Checkpoint Charlie, it was very interesting, there was a lot of tourists. We took the opportunity to buy some souvenirs for our families and friends. Among the monuments and museums we saw the Memorial to Murdered Jews in Europe and the Topography of Terror Museum. It was very emotional, we learned even more about this period of history.
We also saw part of the Berlin Wall, it’s amazing to think that a few years ago the city was divided.
It was a busy weekend but I had a very good time with my friends. I hope to go back there to visit even more places.
