EVS Training – Adventures in Warsaw

Dzień dobry! It’s been three weeks since we arrived and Kraków starts to feel like home!

As Francesco wrote, last week we were in Warsaw for our on-arrival training course. It has been an amazing and unforgettable experience for all of us (we have gain some weight too, oops).

During the mornings we had “polish language animation”, where we have learned a little (troche) polish. Then we did different activities during the days, such as ice breakers, games, singing, but also formal aspects like insurance, important rules in polish society and work advices.

One of the things we had to do was choosing a project related to Poland. My group decided to investigate the distric of Praga, where we found the most beautiful street art.

We were so lucky to be able to enjoy a spectacle about  polish traditional dances and even take part on it.

I’m starting to think that EVS is not just being a volunteer and work, is beyond that. Is getting out of your comfort zone, meeting new cultures and grow as a person. I can’t wait to discover all of this during this 9 months in Kraków.

I have to end this post talking about squirrels. In Łazienki Park there are a lot of friendly squirrels, searching for nuts and friends. If you ever get the chance you really have to go there.
